All of the sword fighting done by Westley (Cary Elwes) and Inigo Montoya (Mandy Patinkin) was done without any stunt doubles! The two were both novice fencers prior to filming, and also underwent months of training, even learning to sword fight left-handed.
It's no secret that one of our favorite festivals of the year is the Cucalorus Film Festival in Wilmington, North Carolina. Now in it's 22nd year, the festival will bring over 300 filmmakers and artists in for the
2016 festival.
Cucalorus is actually a multi-disciplinary arts organization supporting emerging and innovative creative professionals through their annual film festival, a residency program, a summer camp for teen filmmakers, a community cinema, and an extensive community engagement program. But don't take our word for it... MovieMaker Magazine has named it "One of the coolest film festivals in the world" for three years in a row! See you there!
What is a cucalorus you ask? It's a film set apparatus placed in front of a light source to create a dappled lighting effect on a subject or background. The Cucalorus Film Festival takes place November 9-16 this year.
