So let’s address some stuff on that list. Our roadmap lists our spring update with crafting, cooking, housing, farming, and the Farmlands zone. Now first, we know spring is over (thank you for your patience). With our changes in team members, we’ve had to push back, but I promise it was worth the wait. We’ll be reassessing our roadmap and posting a new one after this coming update. Derailment done, back to the spring update:
Here’s what you can expect for Farm 'n Forge:
- The mainland is open!! Help repair the ferry (team up in multiplayer to get it done faster) and you'll be crossing the gap away from Azura over to...
- The brand-new Farmlands zone! This area is almost twice the size of Azura Island. Wow.
- A series of new crafting mechanics, which include:
- Cooking
- Tailoring
- Woodworking
- Blacksmithing
- Farming.
- The town of Sleepy Haven.
- A portion of the Windless Woods zone. Expect more in nearby updates.
- New mounts to collect. (Some of these are pretty well-hidden secrets.)
- Stables to manage your mounts.
- Equipable outfits.
- New enemies.
- 500+ new items.
- Brand new NPC AI - the citizens of Tirawyn now dynamically go about their daily schedules, whether you're around or not.
- Destructible pots and crates. (We couldn't help ourselves. They're too fun.)
- New music and sound effects.
- Guard faction.
- Purchasable bank slots.
And tons more. I'm not kidding, there's so much in this update. If you want to see all the things we didn't have space or time to include here, we've been posting a weekly "Development Digest" over on Discord, where we list all the changes the team have made over the course of the week. It's been really well received, so consider coming over to have a look.
I know everyone double checked to see if housing was included. Unfortunately, it didn’t make the cut for this update. This means it’ll be coming the update after. We are excited to release this first phase of Farmlands and continue to grow it as you all play and give us feedback. We want to make sure each update is done right and we aren’t cutting any corners to get there. Feedback is a great way to make sure we are going in the right direction.
Many streamers and YouTubers have already started sharing previews of the update! Make sure to check those out for sneak peeks.
