Welcome to the very first newsletter of the new Systems Science SIG of ISBNPA. The Systems Science SIG was created to bring together researchers and professionals interested in systems thinking and approaches. Systems science helps us explore complex, interconnected factors related to nutrition, physical activity, and other health-related behaviors. The SIG aims to foster collaboration, share innovative methods, and promote the integration of systems thinking into research and practice. Through this, we aim to advance knowledge and address complex challenges at a global level.
Aims of the Systems Science SIG
Our SIG is dedicated to advancing the role of systems science within the ISBNPA community through the following key objectives:
● Showcasing Innovation: Highlight groundbreaking systems science research and methodologies relevant to nutrition, physical activity and other health-related behaviors.
● Raising Awareness: Promote the utility and benefits of systems science approaches in addressing health challenges.
● Identifying Opportunities for Advancement: Assess the current use of systems science, identifying strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
● Building a Network: Foster a strong network of ISBNPA members committed to advancing systems science methodologies.
