T.A.S.K. Is Celebrating Father’s Day All Month Long!

For the month of June we continue to shine a light on Fathers who are not only present in the lives of their child(ren), but active as well! It’s not easy being a parent, let alone a parent of a child with a disability or medical condition!

In June of 2022, we began a series of interviews with Black Fathers in support of “Speak II Me: A Black Father’s Journey Raising a Son on the Autism Spectrum”! These men not only continue to refute the stereotype of the absentee dad, but the myth that men cannot be vulnerable.

In support of the latest T.A.S.K. Father’s Spotlight conversation with Mr. Nigel Thompson of Kindred Bakery BK we revisit these previous discussions with these outstanding Brothers. To watch please visit our website at https://www.theamazinglysensationalkids.com/speak2me

T.A.S.K. Father’s Spotlight: Nigel Thompson

This month our T.A.S.K. Father’s Spotlight shines on Mr. Nigel Thompson, co-founder of Kindred Bakery BK! Based out of Brooklyn, New York, Kindred Bakery teaches culinary skills to kids on the spectrum through live interactive classes called cohorts.

Join Nigel live on Thursday June 12th at 7pm Eastern Standard Time (EST) on @theamazinglysensationalkids Instagram as he speaks with Jamiyl about his fatherhood journey, what moved him to start Kindred Bakery, and more! Please visit the Kindred Bakery BK  website to learn more about Nigel and this awesome program!

A Letter to Autism Dads!

The good folks at ABA Toolbox have reached out to our co-founder Jamiyl to author a personal letter to fathers who are dealing with the challenges of raising a child with a disability.

Whether it be struggling coming to terms with a new diagnosis, fear of the future well being of the child, or just plain denial that there is an issue, men are more likely to experience these roller coaster of emotions in silence.

The opportunity to speak to other families about our journey raising a child on the autism spectrum is an honor we do not take lightly. So when Missy of ABA Toolbox reached out to write a letter to their ABA Dads community it was a no-brainer!

Autism is not a death sentence! Be disappointed, but don’t get discouraged! God doesn’t make mistakes! There is a testimony after the trial if you remove your personal feelings and allow your child to receive the services he/she needs to thrive! View the full letter here

Be sure to follow ABA Toolbox on all social media platforms.

Nominate a Father Contest!

Beginning June 12th A Humble Work Incorporated, in collaboration with The Amazingly Sensational Kids Media LLC, invites you to nominate a special Dad who has gone above and beyond the call for his family and community.

It’s time for men who are constantly giving of themselves to have self care, which is particularly hard to do when raising a child that has different abilities than the average neurotypical child.
