Hello T&I Members,

I am pleased to announce our two free CareerTech VISION registrations have been selected from the membership campaign that we ran earlier this summer. They are: Valerie Peterson in Iowa and Bill Anthony in Colorado — congratulations!

I am also delighted to announce that the T&I division is excited to give away 25 $25 Amazon gift cards to those T&I members who register by today's VISION early bird deadline — register today for your chance to win! All winners will be randomly selected from the T&I division early bird registrants and they will receive their gift cards on-site at VISION (and then we have 125 more to give away at VISION, so watch for information on those drawings!). Join us in Las Vegas for premier professional development and networking with CTE experts and peers and for a chance to win!

Finally, I wanted to share that my time at SkillsUSA in Atlanta was a stellar experience and event, which took up three entire sections of the conference center in a beautiful city and venue! I was really excited to see all our work in the T&I division influencing so many young lives.

Professional Development Conferences & Events

ACTE’s CareerTech VISION, happening Nov. 30–Dec. 3 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, brings together thousands of secondary and postsecondary career and technical educators, business leaders and industry professionals. You’ll have the opportunity to enjoy featured keynote speakers and leaders on our main stage, hundreds of educational sessions and networking events in a variety of formats, and a massive CareerTech Expo. We are excited to offer a fully in-person event with a robust virtual component for remote attendance! The early bird deadline ends today, Aug. 15!

New Postsecondary CTE Convening

Join postsecondary CTE professionals from across the nation this Oct. 6–7 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, to address expanding career pathways, building apprenticeships, closing access and equity gaps, and supporting faculty recruitment and retention. The convening will feature expert panel presentations, engaging professional development sessions, and numerous networking sessions.

Boutique Event for CTE Leaders & Administrators

Happening Sept. 28–30 in beautiful Cape Cod, North Falmouth, Massachusetts, ACTE’s and NCLA’s annual Best Practices and Innovations in CTE Conference focuses on professional development for CTE administrators of both secondary and postsecondary CTE programs and institutions. 

ACTE Welcomes Iowa ACTE

ACTE is pleased to announce that the Iowa Association for Career and Technical Education (Iowa ACTE) has formally unified with the national Association. Spearheaded by the Iowa ACTE Board of Directors and Iowa ACTE Executive Director Sandy Miller, the state association is now officially unified with the national body.

Introducing ACTE’s New Work-Based Learning Division

The new Work-based Learning Division provides ACTE members with valuable resources and opportunities for professional development, leadership and networking as we help students build awareness of potential careers, explore career opportunities and prepare for their future. This new division includes a diverse group of professionals including work-based learning and apprenticeship coordinators, K–12 and postsecondary educators, business and community partners, program administrators, and state workforce representatives. ACTE members have the opportunity to choose from among 11 divisions in ACTE and join a community of professionals with shared CTE interests.
