Leadership Development
Leadership Development Program Registration Now Open for Fall 2021 and Spring 2022
Leadership is a lifelong journey, and the best leaders are committed to ongoing learning. The 10 leadership workshops are designed to inspire students to view themselves as leaders and encourage them to commit to the ongoing development of their leadership skills. The Leadership Certificate recognizes students who practice their new leadership knowledge in a hands-on experience and continually reflect on their actions and areas for growth.

Students earn the co-curricular leadership certificate by:
  • Attending 10 interactive workshops
  • Participating in an ongoing leadership experience
  • Meeting with a coach
  • Completing a reflection paper

Civic Life and Service
Join the Summer Mystery Service Saturday July 24
Get involved with NC State over the summer by attending Mystery Service Saturday!

When: Saturday, July 24 in the morning
Where: It's a mystery!

Mystery Service Saturday is a program in Student Leadership and Engagement where students are given the chance to explore social and volunteer opportunities around North Carolina. Students will embark to an unknown local service organization and engage in direct service. Afterward, students will be taken to a fun social activity that explores local North Carolina culture and allows students to interact with those they have served with! Get excited for the element of surprise and the enjoyment of service!

Civic Engagement Highlight: Ameen Ahmad, AmeriCorps VISTA
In the last year, Student Leadership and Engagement and Feed the Pack Food Pantry have been fortunate to have had Ameen Ahmad as a part of our team. This July, Ameen completes his year of service with NC Hunger Corps, an AmeriCorps VISTA project sponsored by North Carolina Campus Compact.

In this role, Ameen focused on developing educational programs and initiatives that the Feed the Pack Food Pantry will continue to use to address poverty and food insecurity for various members of the NC State community and beyond. Ameen worked alongside Feed the Pack Program Assistant Dana Petre to advise the student leadership team and oversee operations in the food pantry.

A special thank-you and congratulations to Ameen for his year of service, partnership, collaboration, and community!
