Leaders, new teachers connect at
SPS beginning-of-year events
More than 200 SPS leaders connected at Learn. Lead. Succeed! on Aug. 9, and more than 350 new teachers engaged at Induction Days. These events mark the beginning of the school year.
Seven Future Educators participate in first ever signing ceremony
On Aug. 4, SPS held a special signing ceremony for the first class of Future Educators. In the next three years, these Missouri State University students will learn to lead classrooms with excellence. When they graduate, they'll join Team SPS.
SPS hosts COVID-19 vaccine clinics
for community
Springfield-Greene County Health Department will host COVID-19 vaccine clinics at three SPS sites before the school year begins Aug. 22.
  • Friday, Aug. 12, 4-6 p.m., Carver Middle School cafeteria
  • Monday, Aug. 15, 6-8 p.m., Pipkin Middle School cafeteria
  • Friday, Aug. 19, 1-3 p.m., Hillcrest High School East Gym
