TEXAS LEGISLATURE IS OFF & RUNNING

The Texas Legislature went into session January 10,2017 and will end May 29. The Texas legislature meets every other year in Austin. As of print date, very few committees have been appointed and no bills have been introduced. TAA should watch the Senate - Business & Commerce Committee which has been appointed (listed at the end of this article). The state political scene still is impacted by relationships and who you know. Did you vote? Did you attend fundraisers? Did you volunteer? Know your legislators! Did you donate? There is still time, make a donation to help watchdog and protect auctioneers in Texas. CLICK HERE TO DONATE.
We are currently working on solving the issue of increasing the number of vehicle sales allowed by auctioneers in a dispersal sales. We will watch for bills that will impact the auctioneer, their business or the profession. Stay tuned to TAA e-blasts for legislative call to action. AUCTIONEER MEET UP - JOIN US IN HOUSTON FEB 27
Come join us for the first Auctioneer meet up of 2017 on February 27th at 6pm. We will have a fajita buffet sponsored by David Runte and TexMAX Auctions. This is a great opportunity to meet other auctioneers in your area and find out what's happening with the TAA. Please feel free to bring any auctioneer that might be interested in joining the TAA. For assistance to arrange a regional "Meet Up", please contact TAA office at info@texasauctioneers.org. TAA can help promotegathering and arrange a board member to provide updates. Local members arrange locations, help promote and collect attendee contacts on a sign in sheet. The goal is to have informal networking locally and promote auctioneering in Texas!
