STOP CARRYING BUSINESS CARDS!
by Troy Robinett

Ok, Ok, the headline to this business tip is a little miss leading. You shouldn't stop carrying business cards. After all, you never know who you're going to meet out there on the auction road. BUT, its 2017! There is a better way for you to give your contact information to potential clients, fellow Auctioneers or even a new acquaintance.

Go to the contact setting in your smart phone (for this business tip I'm using my iPhone 7). Enter all YOUR information as a new contact. Name, company name, phone numbers, email, url, mailing address, remember to ONLY enter the information you want to share with others! Add a contact photo, keep in mind that this photo will most likely appear when you call the person you are sharing you're contact with, so keep it professional. After you have all of the information you would like entered hit save.

When I did this, my iPhone automatically turned my contact information into "My Card" which is the first contact I see when opening my contacts app. Your smart phone may or may not do that. Either way your information is saved as a contact.

Now, here is "The Move" upon meeting someone that you would like to share your contact with, don't hand them your business card, hand them your smart phone. Allow them to enter their contact information into your phone. When they give the phone back to you, IMMEDIATELY share "My Card" your contact information with them. This can be done by going to your contacts app clicking on your contact or "My Card". Select "Share Contact" and find the person you would like to share your contact with. You already have their contact information so it's very easy!

They now have your information, even a photo that will help them remember you by! And you don't have to worry about them losing your business card!

I hope this was a helpful business tip! Please send me your "My Card" I'd love to exchange information with you! troy@robinettauctionservices.com
