As the interpreting profession evolves due to globalization, remote platforms, and increasing multilingual demands, interpreters—both spoken and signed—must manage linguistic complexities and emotional dynamics during high-pressure assignments.

To meet these challenges, interpreters must develop a strong foundation in Emotional Intelligence (EI)—the ability to understand and manage their own emotions and recognize and influence the emotions of others.

This two-hour webinar, "Elevating Emotional Intelligence in Interpreting: A Pathway to Excellence in Multilingual Communication," will provide interpreters with practical tools and strategies for enhancing their emotional intelligence. This will ensure they can deliver high-quality interpretations while maintaining professionalism and emotional balance.

Webinar Objectives:

  1. Understanding Emotional Intelligence (EI): This section will introduce the key components of EI and their relevance to both signed and spoken language interpreting.
  2. Addressing Emotional Challenges: Highlight the emotional challenges interpreters face and how EI helps manage these challenges, ensuring that interpreters meet the highest professional standards.
  3. Practical EI Strategies: Provide actionable strategies based on the EQ-i framework to enhance self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy, decision-making, and stress management during interpreting.
  4. Long-Term EI Development: Offer participants resources and tools for continued emotional intelligence development, tying EI to their professional growth and longevity.
