Daniel Coberly Named as Transatlantic Council President

On 27 January 2024, Transatlantic Council welcomed Daniel Coberly as the new Council President.

Daniel Coberly is an author, journalist, historian, and noted civil servant from the United States. He has a distinguished Scouting and professional resume, including being a Sixty Year Scout Veteran (2022); recipient of the Silver Buffalo Award (2016), the Distinguished Conservation Service Award (2017) the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award (1997), the Silver Antelope Award (1995), the Silver Beaver Award (1985), the Order of the Arrow Founder’s (1985) and Centurion Awards (2015), the NESA Distinguished Service Award (1988), NESA Silver Wreath (1986) plus many others. His international service as youth/adult in Central America, North America, Europe, Asia, within ten different BSA Councils*/four Regions. ** Service as a unit leader, commissioner, Scoutmaster (12+ yrs.), acting Council President. BSA International Ambassador (Emeritus), Council International Representative/Committees (three councils), National Representative (two Councils), member of National Committees (39+ yrs).

Register Today - Cub Scout Day Camp Administrator Training

Transatlantic Council, with the National Camp School, will be running an online training for Day Camp Administrators March 2 & 3, 2024. Interested adult leaders can register for this 2 day course at the National Camp School link: National Camp School 

This training qualifies adult leaders to run Cub Scout Day Camps.Those serving in Transatlantic Council may be eligible to have their training fees paid by Council. If you have questions about this training program please reach out to Sarah Norman at sarah.norman@scouting.org

Normandy Camporee -

Changing Lives Reception

As part of the Normandy Camporee, Transatlantic Council will host the Changing Lives Reception for donors, and sponsors who seek to financially support the unparalleled Scouting programs offered by the Council.

The evening will include a stand up reception featuring Keynote Speaker Scott Sorrels, D-Day History, and local Normandy food and beverages at the famous Airborne Museum in Sainte-Mere-Eglise, France during the evening of Friday 19 April 2024. 

Don't miss out on this evening of history, fellowship and changing lives through Scouting.

Scouts BSA 2024 Rank and Merit Badge Updates

As part of continuous improvements, changes have been made to rank and merit badge requirements. Attached is a list of those changes that will take effect on January 1, 2024. These changes will also appear in ScoutBook.

It Is Pinewood Derby Season

Many Cub Scout Packs conduct their Pinewood Derby in the months of February and March.   The Program Supply Center is stocked and ready to support all your racing needs with decals, accessory kits, and even glow in the dark wheels to enhance the look of the car, while weights, alignment kits, and other products are available to enhance the car’s performance.

If you are the one giving leadership to your Pack’s PWD this year…. Don’t overlook patches, ribbons, medals and trophies for participants and winners.

Now is the time to order your supplies for the upcoming Pinewood Derby.
