CELEBRATING NATIONAL TENNIS MONTH
May is... (drumroll) #NationalTennisMonth As tennis participation surges in the U.S., players and tennis organizations across the country are encouraged to promote May as National Tennis Month - a time to get out on the court and experience the fun, competition and long-term health benefits of the lifetime sport.

HELP SPREAD THE LOVE OF TENNIS THIS MONTH -

USTA Kentucky is hosting a campaign throughout May
asking everyone to post a short video saying why they love tennis. Please tag USTA Kentucky on Facebook or Instagram, and TACK on Facebook or Instagram. From everyone who has posted and tagged USTA Kentucky, USTA Kentucky will have a drawing on June 1st, awarding one $50 Tennis Warehouse gift card.
TRI-LEVEL 40+ TEAMS FORMING
Are you ready for Tri-Level League this summer? This "doubles with a twist" league happens over two weekends: 40+ is June 11-13; and 18+/55+ is July 30 - August 1. The initial roster deadline for Tri-Level 40+ is just three weeks away on Thursday, May 27.

Players are needed for Tri-Level 40+ teams at all levels - 3.0 and 4.5 men, and 3.5/4.0/4.5 women are especially needed. We're also needing additional 3.5/4.0/4.5 women's and men's teams. If you would like to play Tri-Level, please contact Tara McGuire, Local League Coordinator.
MIXED DOUBLES DEADLINE: MAY 21
The Mixed Doubles initial roster deadline is two weeks away on May 21. There must be enough players on your team registered to field a match (at least three women and three men) by this date. As a reminder, the maximum roster size is 20 players. Mixed League play is June 7, to August 8.

Are you still looking for a team? If you would like to play Mixed, please contact Tara McGuire, Local League Coordinator. Male and female players are especially needed for teams at 18+ 5.0, 7.0 and 9.0; and 55+ 8.0 combined levels.
MEET THE BOARD: LAUREL HUMBERT-STOCK
How long have you been playing tennis, and what got you started?
I’ve been playing tennis since before I can remember. My mom had a hopper of tennis balls and enduring patience for a kid learning to swing a racquet.

What is your favorite league to play in and why?
Last year, I co-captained a mixed doubles team with my husband. We had a great team, and I really enjoyed playing with and organizing that group of people. We’ll see you on the court in 2021! (It’s going down)

What do you enjoy/look forward to about volunteering for TACK?
I enjoy meeting new people and seeing people excited to play tennis, especially new players.

If you could attend one of the four grand slams, which would you choose, and why?
The French Open. Not only do I want to see the greatest tennis player of all time on his “home” court (Vamos!), but I was lucky enough to attend Wimbledon a few years ago. I also plan to attend the U.S. Open this year. I’m ticking them off my list slowly.

If you could be any piece of household furniture, what would you be and why?
A dresser. That’s what the Buzzfeed quiz told me that I was.
"May is #NationalTennisMonth, get out and play!"
