Lexington Summer Classic July 18-19

Apologies for the late notice -- we just found out this week! The Lexington Summer Classic , managed by local tennis coach Byron Wilson, is being played at Shillito Park tennis courts this coming Saturday/Sunday, July 18-19. Registration is open through Wednesday, July 15, and costs $43.50/singles, $33/doubles.

The format is an "Open" style -- no NTRP ratings or age restrictions. All players at any level are encouraged to join and participate. Divisions include Men's or Women's Singles/Doubles, as well as Mixed Doubles.

Top Seed Tennis Club League Play Moves Indoors

In preparation for their hosting of the WTA Top Seed Open Professional Tournament (more in a future newsletter!), Top Seed is closing its outdoor courts for resurfacing starting Monday, July 13. All USTA League matches will be moved indoors until the resurfacing is complete.

The New State Mandate for Face Coverings...

...does not impact league tennis play itself -- facial coverings are still not required on-court as long as social distancing is maintained as much as possible ("Healthy at Work" rules still apply). However, all clubs are required to enforce the wearing of masks to enter their facilities, and while going to/coming from courts.
