The past two weeks have been days filled with uncertainty. With COVID-19 disrupting our normal lives and routines, many are left anxious and exhausted.
This weekend, Texas Republicans were preparing to attend their Senate District and County Conventions, excited to become delegates to help shape the party. However with health and safety concerns, and following Governor Abbott's executive orders and CDC recommendations, many conventions have been postponed. In addition the State Convention has been pushed back and currently plans are being finalized for the convention to be held the week of July 13th-18th.
Since Senate District and County convention dates will not be uniform this year, the Republican Party of Texas is attempting to maintain a list of
convention dates
and they are working to keep this list updated in real time.
Currently there are about 48 new convention dates on the site. For up-to-date news on your convention, monitor this website, or
contact your County Chair
.
If you want to be a delegate to the state convention,
this is your only opportunity.
You do not need to be present at the county or SD convention, but you must be on the delegate or alternate list submitted by your local nominations committee and voted on by the convention.
Thank you to President Trump and Governor Abbott for keeping us up to date and for working tirelessly to keep our country and state healthy and safe. Let us continue to pray for the country, and pray for our President and members of Congress for wisdom while deliberating these important issues. These are truly trying times but with trials come strength and we will come out on the other side a stronger country and party.
