If you’re reading this, you know: we are locked in a battle for the survival of American democracy.
The Democratic Party, with razor-thin majorities in Congress, is fighting to keep the democracy alive. The Republican Party is fighting to end it. This is no exaggeration. But since we know this, we can fight it.
Republicans are attacking our freedom to register to vote – our freedom to vote – and our freedom to have those votes counted fairly.
We register Democrats not only to win elections – but to ensure we will continue to have elections.
Republicans are brutally attacking women’s reproductive rights, erasing non-white people from history, trying to ban even mentioning that gay people exist.
We register Democrats so we can beat sexism and racism and homophobia at the ballot box. So we can create a society that celebrates all of us. So we can return power to the people.
We register Democrats to elect a president like Joe Biden to fight the forces of autocracy, abroad and domestically – to unite the entire community of nations to isolate Putin – to nominate Ketanji Brown Jackson to be the first of many Black women on the Supreme Court.

Field Team 6 Founder Jason Berlin was the featured guest on the Tuesday edition of The Lincoln Project's livestreamed digital series, "The Breakdown with Tara Setmayer & Rick Wilson."

Celebrated photographer Jamie Rogers, whose stunning Colorado land and cityscapes have taken Instagram by storm, has graciously offered a series of awesome postcards to Field Team 6 and our postcard program.
Like Shepard Fairey and James McMullan, Jamie has turned his keen eye and immense talent to the important work of saving democracy by registering Democrats.
Recently we passed the half million postcard milestone, sending hand-written notes and targeted messages — like Democrats Deliver (and Republicans don't) — to over 500,000 likely progressive voters in 12 states.

It’s been almost a year since we started these Social Media Storming training sessions... So join our Social Storm Birthday at next week’s session, March 30, to take a look back at what we've accomplished and acknowledge the people who work behind the scenes to make our storming possible!
In the meantime, here are our most recent (eye-popping) numbers: it’s been 7 weeks in a row with over 50 million impressions, 11 weeks in a row with over 40 million impressions! Last week we generated almost 56.7 million impressions, sending out almost 12k tweets, and 90k likes & retweets! You guys are truly stupendous!

SUNDAY, APRIL 24:
TAKING IT TO THE STATES!
Field Team 6 and partner Democratic Volunteer Center (DVC) are co-hosting an incredibly important webinar on Sunday, April 24 at 1p PT. The topic: how to beat back Republican attempts to use GOP-led state legislatures to subvert free and fair elections.
Attacks on the freedom to vote, and on our ability to freely and fairly count those votes, have dramatically increased in the past year, largely via anti-voter laws passed by GOP-controlled statehouses. These laws seek to limit every aspect of voting, including voter registration, early and absentee voting, and even ballot counting. Experts have also suggested that a fringe legal theory known as the independent state legislature doctrine, which is now appearing in briefs submitted to the Supreme Court, could lead to a subversion of the will of the voters in the 2024 presidential election.
In this talk, Daniel Squadron of The States Project discusses the crucial role of state majorities in creating election law, the critical need to elect pro-democracy candidates to statehouses, and the key target states to focus on for 2022 and 2024.

VOLUNTEER SHOUT-OUT: NICK KUVACH |
|
This week, we're throwing a virtual 'Preciation Party for Nick Kuvach, an awesome volunteer with an impressive history of activism focused on environmental, criminal justice, and electoral issues.
Nick registered as a Democrat at age 18, as has voted in every election since (except when he was abroad). He met his wife of 43 years, Karen, in 1979, and they fell in love while attending a nonviolent civil disobedience workshop in preparation for the ultimately successful effort to shut down the Shoreham Nuclear Power Plant being built on Long Island.
Their two children have carried on the tradition: their son is an activist and college professor, while their daughter is a human rights attorney. Go activist genes!
Over the years Nick and Karen worked with Pete Seeger’s Clearwater Organization to clean up the Hudson River and provide public access to its beautiful shoreline.
It wasn't until 2016 that Nick and Karen became involved in electoral politics. For the 2018 midterms, they worked tirelessly to flip New York’s 19th Congressional District from Red to Blue with the victory of Rep. Antonio Delgado, who won against all odds.
During that time, Nick and Karen also joined other locals to form (Indivisible) Putnam Progressives. During the summer of 2020, Nick and Karen attended about 20 BLM rallies calling for criminal justice reforms.
Then Karen discovered the Field Team 6 website and started phonebankig, which led to Nick getting hooked on textbanking and postcarding. Notably, Nick put our social storm training to the test by attending his first Zoom without a Twitter handle. He's gone on to gain over X followers and has become an avid social storming monster – a crucial member of our 50 million-a-week impressions storming team.
Nick taught us a whole new way to partner when he reached out to see if we could help his non-target state organization, Putnam Progressives, acquire data in Putnam County, NY, to help register new Democrats there. We said yes, so Nick led a fundraising effort to raise the money to buy data – and Field Team 6 purchased it and set up postcarding campaigns on Putnam Progressive's behalf. Nick went on to oversee the distribution of 10,000 postcards to over 75 postcard writing volunteers in the last year, and they are now discussing doing further touchpoints via phonebank and BYOP textbank. (Find out how to do this yourself at our first Partner with Field Team 6 meeting on 3/30.)
Nick, we're honored to have you on our team, still fighting the good fight after all these years. And we look forward to strengthening democracy by beating back fascism and authoritarianism with the power of a tweet, a text, and a postcard.

WHAT'S IN THE BOX?!
One of Field Team 6's coolest tools is our Voter Drive in a Box – the digital version of everything you need to hold your own voter drive in a swing state: training videos, manuals, cheat sheets, etc.
Now we're introducing the physical version. Our Voter Drive in a Box Box is not just metaphorical... it’s an actual box filled with everything a first-time drive leader needs to host their own voter drive: clipboards, pens, forms, stickers, and more – for up to 8 volunteers!
To achieve our goal of mailing one of these state-specific goodie boxes—for free!—to every volunteer who signs up to lead their first voter drive, we're looking for people to Adopt-a-Box. It'll cost us about $60 to buy, stock and ship each box, but we think the dividends it will pay in the voter registration ground game will be priceless. Won't you adopt a box today?
