The Academy of Leisure Sciences' Annual Conference will be held February 26 - March 1st, 2019. The 2019 conference theme will be Intersections  and will be located at the Hyatt Regency in Greenville , SC .

The Journal of Outdoor Recreation, Education, and Leadership has issued a call for papers on the coming Special Issue: A Critical Exploration of Girls' and Women's Experiences in Outdoor Recreation, Education, and Leadership.

The Journal of Park and Recreation Administration has announced a new Editor-in-Chief to replace Robert C. Burns starting January 2019. Sagamore-Venture is happy to welcome Dr. Brijesh Thapa as the incoming Editor-in-Chief.

Author Spotlight
Dr. Tom Sawyer is a 48-year veteran of higher education. He began as an instructor of health and physical education, and throughout the years has served as a director of recreational sports, department head, department chair, associate athletic director, director of articulation and transfer, director of a college prison education program, executive director of regional education centers, and an interim dean of continuing education.
Emeritus Professor Sawyer pioneered the undergraduate and graduate sport management programs at Indiana State University.
