This online event will include:
  • More than a DOZEN educational workshops for actors, writers, directors, technical crew, and more
  • Keynote presentations by VERY special, nationally-known guests
  • Presentation of the 2020 TANYS Merit Awards
  • Entertainment, member company spotlights, and more!
The Governor's #NewYorkTough campaign inspired our #TANYSTough theme

Keep your eye on your email, the TANYS website, the TANYS Facebook page, and our Callboard newsletter for more info on this event. Registration will open soon!

REMINDER: TANYS will NOT be doing any For-Festival adjudications from now through October 31, 2020. Organizational member companies can still request For Learning Only and Technical adjudications through that date, and we will make every effort to fulfill these requests. AACTFest 2021 pivots to invitation format; all AACT members can apply

The American Association of Community Theatre (AACT) has announced that the next national AACTFest will take place June 14-19, 2021 in Louisville, Kentucky, at the state-of-the-art Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts.

AACTFest 2021

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and a possible resurgence in the fall -- and with the uncertainty of when and if state festivals will run in 2020 -- AACT has restructured the AACTFest 2021 cycle to better support the mission of the National Festival.

Under its newly adopted invitational-style model, AACTFest 2021 National Companies will be chosen by application, evaluation, and adjudication, instead of the usual state and regional festival process.

This model ensures that AACTFest will continue, alleviates any financial burden or obligation of state or regional festivals while theatres are struggling with the effects of COVID-19, and still gives every theatre across the nation a fair opportunity and access to the festival process.

Applications are being accepted now through November 1 from AACT-member theatres to participate in the AACTFest 2021 Invitational Festival. Visit AACT's Invitational Process and Application page for full details. And read more about AACTFest 2021 here!
