A sneak peak at the 2026 TANYS Festival

Break out your tropical shirts, betel nuts and coconut-shell bras for the 2026 TANYS Festival, November 20-22... not on a faraway island, but at the newly refurbished Rome Community Theater!

This year's Festival theme, "Some Enchanted TANYS," celebrates the classic Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, South Pacific. We're busy planning plenty of FUN activities to tie into the theme!

Thanks to the great advance work of Festival Chair John Parker, you can reserve your hotel room early at the official Festival hotel: the Hampton Inn (a Hilton hotel), 1352 Floyd Ave, Rome. The special TANYS group rate is $139 per night. Call the Hampton at 315-709-0000 to reserve; a link to reserve online at this rate will also be posted soon on the TANYS website.

And keep your eye on the TANYS website (and your email, and TANYS social media) for more. We'll be posting Festival registration info - both online to pay via credit card, and a downloadable form to pay by check - plus Festival shirt pre-ordering and more details about the Festival weekend!

These important upcoming dates may seem far off, but they'll be here before you know it - so plan now!

• October 10: Last date to request a "for 2026 Festival consideration" TANYS adjudication
• October 24: TANYS 2026 Festival production cycle window closes at midnight
• October 25: TANYS adjudicators meet to decide which productions to invite to perform at the Festival (and then invite them)
• October 26-November 19:
• Invited performing companies receive, fill out and return their Festival paperwork, rehearse their Festival productions, prepare to travel to Rome
• Theatre lovers from across NYS and beyond finalize their plans to travel to Rome to soak up 3 days of theatre FUN!
• November 20-22: SHOW TIME!

The clock is ticking... and the TANYS Festival will be here before you know it. Start NOW on preparing your entry (or two, or more!) of your creative, effective, jaw-dropping design work. Then show it off in the BMI Supply Design Competition and Exhibition!

Whether it's Scenic, Lighting, Costume, Make-up, Hair, Sound, Special Effects, Props, Technical or Graphic Design - or design work in a different category - your theatre colleagues WANT TO SEE the results of your hard work at the 2026 TANYS Festival in November.

Get those entries ready now, while your work is still fresh (and photograph-able) - especially if your design work has won a TANYS Roving Adjudicator Merit Award. You might even win a CASH award!
