Early intervention for parents of children with autism reduces symptoms
For children with autism, interventions typically focus on the child. But results of a new, long-term study indicate that an early intervention centering on helping parents communicate with their child reduces the severity of autism symptoms. Furthermore, these results yield long-term improvements.
Published in The Lancet, the study was conducted by researchers at the University of Manchester, King's College London, and Newcastle University - all of which are in the United Kingdom.
