Superintendent's Message
Dear TBAISD family,

Part of being a reflective leader is to be mindful of the words we use and the impact they have on the individuals with whom we interact. Aspiring to be a positive influence on children, families, colleagues and co-workers, I try be mindful of word choice, intonation, and presentation. It is with thoughtful consideration that the word that comes to mind today is WOW!, short in length but long in heartfelt gratitude and admiration.

Thank you to our TBAISD family members who participated in our own “Family Feud.” One of the desired outcomes of our time together was to build upon the positive, uplifting culture that is in the fabric of our organization. Congratulations to the victorious team from New Campus and to all who set aside their fear of public speaking to have fun with colleagues (Out of 100 people surveyed, public speaking is the number one greatest fear).

As the school year progresses, it is our sincere hope that you continue to take time to laugh and connect with colleagues. Our incredibly rewarding, yet sometimes heavy, workload can be lightened with the support of colleges who share a passion for supporting students, families, and our local districts.

Nick Ceglarek, Ed.D.

Student Design Awarded as Cloak of Honor
Last spring, CTC students were given the opportunity to design the exterior of a new Traverse City Police Department vehicle to be driven by TBAISD School Resource Officer Jennilyn Oster. The winning design was submitted by Olivia Izatt, a home schooled senior enrolled in the CTC Public Safety/Protective Services Program. Film and New Media instructor Tom Mills worked with Izatt to recreate her hand-drawn design into a digital format which was used to make a 3M plastic wrap for the vehicle. Over the summer the vehicle was transformed and Olivia was invited to ride in it with TCPD Chief O'Brien during the National Cherry Festival Parade. Olivia currently attends NMC studying law enforcement.
