Superintendent's Message

“Every action we take impacts the lives of others
around us. The question is: Are you aware of Your Impact?”
~ Arthur Carmazzi

Dear TBAISD Staff,

Recently, we were asked to partner with a local school district leader and present to a local board of commissions on school funding. As a common practice, following the presentation we inquired if additional questions existed. One of the commissioners asked about the types of programs and services we provide to local school district families and students. Before we could finish outlining a comprehensive list, one commissioner exalted, “My four children all attended the Manufacturing Technology Academy at the Career-Tech Center and all went to the University of Michigan. We can not be more pleased with the quality of programs, people and experiences. ” Another commissioner followed up with, “Yes, my son attended MTA as well.” A third commissioner expressed deep appreciation for the special education programs and services TBAISD provides.

To say I was blown away is an understatement. I know YOU make a difference every day because I have the privilege of seeing your work first-hand. For example, walking into the Life Skills Center talent show and witnessing the immense expression of joy on students' faces and watching them celebrate their successes with our teacher assistants, teachers, and support staff is moving. However, to go to a community meeting and having others (outside of our organization) praise the people, programs and experience is amazing. Through YOUR actions and interactions, you are making a profound impact in the lives you touch. Thank you.

An important part of our strategic planning process includes seeking your input. Thank you to the 280 staff members who have already completed our staff survey. If you have not yet, please reserve about 10 minutes to complete the linked staff survey . On May 7, we plan to share a comprehensive report highlighting the findings with our TBAISD Board of Education.

As we transition from winter to spring, I look forward to our work together and the continued inspiration you and our students provide.

Respectfully,
Nick Ceglarek, Ed.D.

Phishing Alert
Continued vigilance is needed by every user of the TBAISD email system to help our network remain free of viruses and malware. While our filters stop most phishing attacks before they reach the inbox, it takes only a single exception to cause a problem. Caution is especially needed when dealing with attachments or links. In general, if you are not expecting someone to send you a file then you should verify the identity and intention of the sender before opening an attachment or clicking on a link.
TBAISD staff members have a solid history of successfully avoiding email scams. We urge renewed caution as attackers' tactics evolve to get past technical defenses and the choices of email users. If you have questions about phishing scams or receive a suspicious email message please contact any member of the Tech Services team immediately.
