"Harvest Against Hunger" for Sukkot
October 8 - 22 at Temple Beth Ami
Sukkot is also called "The Harvest Festival." We thank God for plentiful fall crops. In our area, we particularly enjoy apples and raspberries. Perhaps your family will celebrate Sukkot by picking your own. See what's available here . Find out more about the meaning and traditions of Sukkot here .

It is also an appropriate time to support those who do not have plentiful food. 63,000 Montgomery County residents can't depend on their next meal. In partnership with Manna Food Center, Temple Beth Ami is expanding our annual Food Drive to help combat growing food insufficiency in our area.

Blessing Your Children
During the high holidays, we thank God for many of life's blessings.

On Rosh Hashanah - for the gift of renewal.
On Sukkot - for the gift of food and shelter.
On Sim h at Torah - for the gift of Jewish teachings.

Every Shabbat, we have a unique opportunity to be thankful for our children and to give them a special blessing, to show our appreciation of them and our hopes for their future.

PJ Library recently mailed subscribers a lovely keepsake card to guide you though the blessings each Friday night. Please add it to the Shabbat Kit that your child will soon bring home.

" When we bless our children, we pray that they should be like us in some ways, but better than us in so many others." - Rabbi Aaron Panken
