Dear TBE Member:
My best wishes to you and your family for a very happy and healthy 2023. Let it be a year filled with joy and special times for all of you.
As I indicated in my videotaped message last October, the Board of Trustees has begun the process of gathering input from the congregation as it makes plans to ensure we remain on a path of continued growth. It is a process that is all the more important as we undertake the hiring of a new Senior Rabbi who will succeed Rabbi Hammerman when he assumes the role of Rabbi Emeritus in July 2024.
Our congregational survey is now complete, and I want to thank all of you who participated. Your responses are being analyzed and a summary will be published in a future issue of the TBE Bulletin. Now, it is time for our second survey. This survey, much shorter than the first, asks for your input on the qualities and skills our next Senior Rabbi should have. It should not take much time to complete.
There is nothing more important than hearing from each and every adult member of the congregation, and I encourage you to take time to consider the questions and your answers very carefully. The link to our second survey is: https://tinyurl.com/tbers23. The survey will close on Friday, February 17.
Your responses will help the Board of Trustees and the soon-to-be-formed Rabbi Search Committee better understand your wants and needs and describe to candidates who we are as a congregation and the relative importance of key tasks and responsibilities our next rabbi will be asked to perform. It remains our intention to hold in-person and virtual focus groups beginning in March that will dig even deeper into various aspects of synagogue life. I will reach out again at that time to provide additional details.
As always, please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions. On behalf of the Board of Trustees, my thanks to all of you for your ongoing and enduring commitment to TBE.
B’shalom.
