God at Work
When you think back to your time on playgrounds as a young child, you may recall the soft wind against your face as you speed down a slide or propel forward on a swing.  Perhaps your mind wanders to time with your friends, or the first time you conquered the monkey bars.  Behind all of the fun and interaction are the physical, developmental and social benefits that a playground is built to cultivate.  Playgrounds are safe, invaluable spaces dedicated to the development of children.

Given the importance of playgrounds to developing children, it is no surprise that our Barnabas Group ("TBG") ministries and partners jumped at the opportunity to build a playground for the new Siloe Wellness Center in Mexico, March of this year.  DJ and Jim Kirk-Johnson of Strong Tower Ministries, Chris Marshall of Kids Around the World, and TBG partners Dan & Gina Streit and Jim Lacy, came together to bless the beautiful children in Baja.

Below is an inside look into the mission trip from TBG partner, Dan Streit:

"Upon arriving to Siloe Wellness Center in La Mision, Mexico, we met Jim Lacy with Kids Around the World.  What an incredible, Godly man!  Our small team of three adults and two teens (Troy and Vasco Nunez & Mauricio Perea) didn't flinch when we saw what lied ahead.  The playground parts were scattered, and not even one hole had been dug!  We spent the entire Friday digging holes, and putting parts in place.  We returned at sunrise on Saturday morning.  We were thankful to discover that our team of 5 had grew to 10.  The additional team members included the key engineering minds we needed, Mitchell and Geoff.  We also added our friends, Jerry, Chris and Daniel, which completed our amazing team.  Thank you Lord!

After another full day of fun in the sun and short rain showers, we were getting close to pouring the concrete.  Sunday morning we tightened all the bolts just in time for the Siloe Wellness Center dedication ceremony.  The founders, Brendan and Sarah Meyer, invited  a few local families of La Mision.  We want to thank Kids Around the World, Siloe Ministries, and Strong Towers Ministries for allowing us to work together, and bless God's kids of La Mision for years to come."
