Capital Punishment in Jewish Law and Israel Israel’s Knesset (Parliament) recently passed a law establishing the death penalty (for the first time in its history) for acts of terrorism committed against the Israeli state. In this class we will explore Jewish perspectives on capital punishment from the Torah through rabbinic law and the modern state of Israel as we consider arguments for and against this new law.
