• College Crunch Night will be on Wednesday, October 11th from 4-7 p.m.

• Ideal Uniforms is coming to do a pop-up sale on Wednesday, September 27th from 12-3 p.m. This is a great option for any families that would like to purchase from Ideal but can't go in person to their store. (We don't recommend ordering online from Ideal, as their shipping is not reliable).

The Student Senate is offering its annual Fall Swag Sale. Items can be purchased directly through CustomInk at this link, and can either be picked up at school in mid-October or shipped directly to your home for a small delivery fee. 

All items are approved for daily uniform use. 

All proceeds go to support the TBLS Student Senate and will be used for student activities, events, and club funding requests. Last year the Student Senate was able to throw a Winter Dance, sponsor a teacher dunk tank at the Founders' Day Carnival, and provide nearly $1000 in grants to TBLS clubs because of our fundraising efforts.

First Meeting, New EB Members, Fundraising, Committees, Swag

• Thanks to all who joined us for our first PA meeting of the year on Wednesday to hear from Headmaster Billy, vote on our budget, and elect new parents to serve on our PA executive board and School Leadership Team (SLT).

• We are thrilled to welcome three new members to our executive board: Amy Grindeland and Alejandra Juarez as Co-Second VPs and Miguel Barrett as Co-Recording Secretary. Many thanks also to Jehangir Mehta for volunteering to serve as an SLT Parent Member. We are grateful for their willingness to help!

• There are many other opportunities to get involved. Our Fundraising Committee is up and running. Its first meeting of the year will be Thursday, October 5th at 7:30 p.m.; future meetings will be held on the first Thursday of each month (through May) @7:30 p.m. If you’d like to get involved, email Committee Chair Jenny at fundraising@brooklynlatinpa.org.

• Other committees are Membership+Events, Uniforms, Alumni, New Building+Equity, and Audit; if you are interested in helping in any of these areas, please reach out to us at copresidents@brooklynlatinpa.org and share your phone number to be added to the appropriate WhatsApp groups.

Win, win, win...

The Gaynor Campus girls volleyball team won both their matches last week (both 2 sets to 0), and the TBLS soccer team won its first game as well (7-0). 

Help our teams continue their winning streaks this week:

• The Gaynor Gators girls volleyball game on Tuesday, September 26th @5:30 p.m. at the Benjamin Banneker Academy Gym.
• The TBLS Titans Soccer Team on Tuesday, September 26th at 5 p.m. at Sternberg Park.  
• Gaynor Cross Country boys will have their first race on Tuesday, September 26th at 4 p.m. at Prospect Park.
• Gaynor Cross Country girls will have their first race on Wednesday, September 27th at 4 p.m. at Prospect Park .
• Gaynor Cross Country boys and girls will have a Group Run on Saturday, September 30th at Van Cortlandt Park.

In the last year, the Gaynor campus added two PSAL teams -- a Varsity boys' basketball team and a Varsity boys' volleyball team (to join girls' teams). We also added a JV boys basketball team playing in an independent league and made our TBLS Ultimate Frisbee team official, also playing in an independent league. Student interest and advocacy made it happen!
