TCA COVID Update

TCA completed another month with no cases of COVID 19 coming into the building. One staff member did test positive for COVID in March. Due to health and safety precautions and proper quarantine measures, this staff member never entered the TCA building, and no students or staff were exposed to the virus.

Thank you all for following the DCIU health and safety plan, staying home if sick, wearing masks, and practicing social distancing.

Most TCA staff members were able to participate in the state-wide vaccine for educators’ program during March. Over 95% of TCA staff are now vaccinated.

Student Equity
TCA is proud to have a representative from the program participate in the county-wide Equity and Diversity student summit. A 12th-grade student from William Penn School district participated with students from across the county on the DCIU sponsored event.

The student was able to have difficult conversations with peers and staff about race, equity, and diversity. The TCA student did a great job of presenting and summarizing the results from his small group break-out room.
Please welcome two of TCA's newest staff...
Mr. Terrence
Mr. Terrence Cobb came to TCA with a lot of experience and knowledge; he has worked in the juvenile justice system for many years and in other alternative settings. Mr. Terrence has already built such a great rapport with the students and staff.  TCA is happy to have him as part of the team.
When he is not working at TCA you can find him officiating basketball games, traveling, or spending time with his loved ones.
Dr. Krista grew up on a cattle farm in Virginia before moving to Delaware County. On the way here, she received her doctorate degree at Temple University. Dr. Krista has worked in Philadelphia and Delaware County for the past 10 years. She is excited to bring what she knows to TCA and continue to learn from students and staff here! She is currently working with students on the RENEW program to help them with goals for graduation and beyond.

When she is not working, Dr. Krista loves reading and finding new hiking trails and playgrounds for her and her family to explore. She has been involved in various forms of martial arts since high school, presently enjoying kickboxing classes at a local gym.
