Young Construction Leaders' Speaker Series Highlight -
Options for Recent Graduates in Construction Program
|
|
As part of the Young Construction Leader’s (YCL) focus on educational outreach and its commitment to working with bright young minds in the construction industry, the YCL hosted one of a series of speaker events aimed at giving recent graduates and young professionals in construction, insight into their career options.
The two hour event was held at George Brown College, Casa Loma Campus on Wednesday March 21, 2018. The speaker series brought in the following industry leaders to talk about their experiences starting in the construction industry with small and mid-sized firms.
Michael Verity,
Principal, Boszko & Verity Inc.
Danny Battista,
President at Torque Builders Inc.
Angelo Suntres,
Estimating Manager at Black & McDonald Ltd.
Eric Bornstein,
CEO at ToolBx
The speakers encouraged the audience to seek out all opportunities, regardless of the size of company and not to neglect companies that may not have the brand recognition. The speaker’s also noted that smaller firms can offer a greater breadth of experience for younger employees starting out their careers.
Huge thank you to Ben Morse, YCL Vice-Chair and YCL Committee Member, Albert Aragona from Harbinger Network Inc., for helping to organize this event and a special thank you to Reza Zohouri from George Brown College and all the speakers for their contribution.
