TCA's Annual General Meeting & "Best of the Best" Awards Recap!

Our Annual General Meeting and "Best of the Best" Awards took place on Thursday, February 21, 2019, at Woodbine Racetrack.
|
|
|
Close to two hundred members attended the event and heard from our keynote speaker
Chris Gauer,
President, Project Delivery with Infrastructure Ontario (IO). Speaking on the topic of IO's supply chain and delivery of new infrastructure projects.
|
|
The association's 2018 financial overview was presented, followed by the "Best of the Best" Awards presentation, recognizing members for their outstanding project achievements and, contribution to our industry.

for joining us and being this year's keynote speaker.

for Attending Our 37th Annual Ski Day Event!
|
|
It was fun hitting the slopes with you!
TCA's 37th Annual Ski Day was held on Thursday, February 28th at the beautiful Craigleith Ski Club, in Collingwood.
There was plenty of fresh powder on the ground, along with mild temperatures - it was a glorious day on the slopes! Guests enjoyed skiing, snowboarding, skating or snowshoeing, mini massages and live entertainment.
All the attendees received great giveaway prizes, handed out at the après party, and enjoyed the delicious food and networking.
Thanks to the incredible staff at Craigleith for providing us with excellent service and all our wonderful volunteers for assisting and help making the event run smoothly.

! It was a fun-filled evening of friendly ping pong competition, socializing with friends and colleagues, delicious food, drinks, and fabulous prizes won by the top two tournament players.

Bill Morneau
, presented the Liberal government’s final budget before the 2019 election. Titled “Investing in the Middle Class,” the plan is designed to position the Liberal government ahead of the election currently scheduled for October 21, 2019.

Tender for Prequalified General Contractor Required for Secondary Plant Upgrades, New Tertiary Treatment Facility, New Chlorine Contact Tank and Modifications to Red Hill Creek Located at the Woodward Avenue Wastewater Treatment Plant
The City of Hamilton is currently undertaking the Clean Harbour Project, an ambitious goal with support from the Government of Ontario and the Government of Canada, to enhance water quality in Hamilton Harbour by upgrading the Woodward Avenue Wastewater Treatment Plant.
This project involves several sub-projects including replacement of the existing raw wastewater pumping station with a new station, expansion of secondary treatment to allow for nitrification, addition of tertiary cloth filtration media for tertiary treatment, construction of a new Energy Centre, complete with standby power and construction of a new chlorine contact tank, and outfall to Red Hill Creek. Design and construction of the different project components will occur in parallel, and all components are anticipated to be completed by 2020.
