New Woodsworth College Academic Building

Woodsworth College is one of seven colleges on the University of Toronto’s St. George campus. The new Library & Learning Centre will expand upon the existing College Halls’ function and importance as a social, academic, event, and student life hub for the Faculty of Arts & Science. Key project considerations include the sensitive approach and integration with the existing structures’ heritage features, an appropriate response to context, as well as sustainable facilities suitable to the professionalism of its’ users.

This project will accommodate space requirements for the Centre for Criminology & Sociolegal Studies (CRIM) and for the Centre for Industrial Relations and Human Resources (CIRHR), both of which are academically and administratively linked to Woodsworth College. It will provide a student hub open to all students of the College, and includes a learning commons for CRIM and CIRHR; replace and expand upon Kruger Hall’s function as event and student space, and accommodate the College’s expanding office needs. Two new classrooms (78-seat and 120-seat) are included in the program.

This project has an estimated value of $10,000,000
