The TCA Young Construction Leaders (YCL) Committee is hosting a thought-provoking discussion on how to break down existing industry barriers, achieve equity in leadership positions, and pave the way for the next generation of women in the industry.
Taking place at the Gensler Toronto office (150 King Street West, Suite 1400) on Wednesday, October 23rd, 2024, between 4:00 PM – 6:30 PM EST, the Women in Leadership event will feature a panel of leaders from across the industry to share their experiences, lessons, and advice for both up-and-coming, and seasoned, architects, designers, and builders.

TCA Summer Boat Cruise: A Night to Remember!
The TCA Summer Boat Cruise once again proved to be an unforgettable experience. It was held on Thursday, August 8, and this year’s event surpassed all expectations, offering an even more exhilarating night of summer fun than the previous year.
TCA members set sail through the picturesque Islands of Lake Ontario, with the cruise starting in the early evening and continuing through a breathtaking sunset. The stunning backdrop, along with great company, made this event the perfect mix of relaxation and networking, offering attendees a memorable opportunity to connect in a unique and beautiful setting.
This three-hour cruise has set a new standard for summer events in the construction industry, and it will be a challenge to surpass it in 2025. However, rest assured, the TCA team is already brainstorming ways to make next year’s event even more spectacular.

The Mission of our Young Construction Leaders Club (YCL) is to develop an informal communication network among construction industry future Leaders up to 40 years of age, in order to:

Member Benefit: Virtual Commissioning of Stat Decs | |
Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, TCA is now commissioning statutory declarations virtually for our members.
If you require the signature of a commissioner of oaths, the virtual commissioning process will be as follows:

Email us at statdec@tcaconnect.com to set up the video conference.
- Commissioning staff will ask for identification in order to verify the member's identity. Have your picture identification ready.
- Once confirmed you will sign the Statutory Declarations while the commissioning staff witness. You will then need to scan and send it by email.
- Once received, the commissioning staff will print and verify the signature that they witnessed and if everything is satisfactory, they will sign and email it back.

Nahid Harbour ready to shine at Oshawa’s waterfront
Nahid Harbour Condos will shine bright as Oshawa’s first waterfront community, the developer says.
Located at 80 Harbour Rd. near Nelson Street in Oshawa along the shores of Lake Ontario, the tower is expected to be one of the first modern condo communities in the city’s lakefront district. Nahid is a Muslim name of Arabic origin that means shining star or morning star.
The first tower at Nahid Harbour features a 10- to 16-storey terraced podium with a 30-storey tower soaring above it. It will offer a total of 694 residential suites. The developer is Nahid Corporation and the architects are Options Architects. The highrise is in the preconstruction phase.
The lot, which is currently empty, is surrounded by conservation parklands, beaches and Lake Ontario.
Nahid Harbour was designed to facilitate connectivity through an abundance of indoor and outdoor amenity spaces, trails, walkways and parks, while preserving nature reserves onsite. The McLaughlin Bay Wildlife Preserve is located to the east of the property. Lakeview Park, which is on Lake Ontario and features beaches and sports fields, is located to the south. Nearby is the Oshawa Valleylands Conservation Area which offers access to bike paths along the Oshawa Creek.
The property is situated between the water’s edge and transit and amenities including the Oshawa Via Rail and GO Station, Highway 401, the Oshawa Centre, restaurants, parks and beaches.
The residential building will feature studio, one, two and three bedrooms and amenities.
