Along the way, students connected with mentors, experienced construction projects up close, and capped the day with a Blue Jays game.
A huge thank you to EllisDon, PCL Construction, Virgili Group, Broccolini, ENCO Caulking, ABC Supply Co. Inc., and the Pinball Foundation for helping us inspire the next generation of builders!

East Bayfront recreation centre opens at base of Aqualuna condo
The East Bayfront Community Recreation Centre has now opened as a key component of the waterfront’s revitalization plan.
The City of Toronto worked with the development industry to deliver the new facility, located in the base of the new Aqualuna Condominium.
Located at the base of Parliament Street, at 261 Queens Quay E., the centre faces the Parliament Slip and Waterfront promenade on the east side. It features a full-sized gymnasium, a fitness and dance studio, three multi-purpose rooms and a kitchen.
According to a release, the centre is open to everyone and will welcome local Indigenous-serving organizations to provide programing to their clients in the centre’s spaces.
Eventually an Indigenous name will be bestowed to the centre, complementing other Indigenous naming processes on the city’s waterfront.
The new recreation centre is an integral part of the Hines Tridel Bayside Toronto condominium development, the release address. The site itself includes several mixed-use high-rise condominiums, a park and an affordable housing apartment building.
The consultant team on the project was:
Architect: Perkins + Will Architects
Mechanical/ Electrical Engineers: MCW Consultants
Sustainability: EQ Building Performance
