Need to Know

Listen to Last Sunday's Sermon by Kyle Smethurst
This Sunday - One Worship Service Only at 9:30a

The service will be followed by an All Church Brunch and then the Annual Meeting.

Children will be dismissed from 9:30 LTA as usual. Please pick up ALL children at end of the service and return to Phillips Hall to enjoy an All Church Brunch.

There is care for children (infant through grade five) for parents attending the Annual Meeting. For safety sake, children (infant - grade 5) need to be supervised during the Annual Meeting. Children may stay with their parents in the meeting OR go to kid-care in age appropriate rooms.

At 11:30A, parents staying for the Annual Meeting should:
  • Re-register and get a new name/claim tags for their children at Check-in Desk.
  • Escort their children to their appropriate rooms.
Infants - preschool children to Room 105
  Elementary children to Room 204

Parents should pick up their children immediately following the Annual Meeting in their respective rooms.

All Church Brunch Before the Annual Meeting on Sunday, January 26 th - What Will you bring?

We are going to have an All-Church Pot Luck Brunch before the Annual Meeting. We’ll provide the eggs and breakfast meat (thanks to Peter and Kathryn Kidd, Jim and Robin Spinale and their Small Group) as well as coffee, tea and juice.

Would you be willing to bring a salad, bagels and cream cheese, fruit, muffins, a breakfast bread or other goodies?

Drop it in the kitchen on the way into church that morning and we will set it out!

"Good Question” Seminar - Additional Resources
We had a great turnout at last Sunday's "Good Question" seminar. It was recorded and if you would like to access the recording, please email us.

During the seminar Tom recommended a few additional resources. Here are some links to those. Pleas don't hesitate to reach out if you have more questions! We hope to do these seminars quarterly.

On women in ministry:  Blog Post by Tom and Donna.

A book on the global impact of women in ministry, along with some exegetical insights into the main texts.

On war: (CS Lewis) several blogs are available. Here is one example.

Also: Lewis, C. S. "The Conditions for a Just War," in God in the Dock: Essays on Theology and Ethics, ed. by Walter Hooper. Grand Rapids, Michigan: William B. Eerdmans Publishing Co., 1970.

On Canaanite judgement:
It's a difficult topic but Tom has used this book over the years.
2020 Offering Envelopes

Offering envelopes for 2020 are now available in the church lobby for pick up. If you like to use assigned envelopes and do not see a box already there for you, let Aimee Mury know by signing up on the clipboard sheet located in the lobby with the envelopes, otherwise call the church office at 508-358-7717, or email Aimee at  contributions@tccwayland.org .

Likewise, if you have assigned envelopes, but won’t use them, please leave them in the box in the lobby BUT mark “Won’t need” and initial the box. This will save us from over ordering next year. Tha nk you!
Finding Purpose in an Age of Anxiety
A special lecture and discussion hosted by TCC at Wayland High School

We are hoping to provide a forum that will encourage people to slow down and consider one way to live a purposeful life in a society so crippled with anxiety. We want this forum to be a place where believers and skeptics feel comfortable bringing their doubts and questions and also feel comfortable offering constructive challenges to opposing views. Winter Parking is Tight - Please Help!!
If you are physically able, please park in the Town Building Lot. You may drop off people or paraphernalia and then proceed to the parking lot. This will leave parking spots for visitors, the handicapped, our older population and those with young infants and toddlers.  This is a practical way for us to show hospitality.  Do not park along the sides of the driveway, as these areas are fire lanes and must be kept clear.

Not sure how to find the overflow lot? Here's a map!
Winter Weather and Possible Church Cancellations

With winter on our doorstep, here is TCC’s inclement weather policy regarding church service delays or cancellation:

In the event of bad weather, a decision will be made by 7p on Saturday night for Sunday morning services . On Sunday mornings, we may potentially cancel the 9:30A service (along with all LTA and Youth Programming) and just have the 11A service. This would mean there would not be any Student Ministry or Children’s Programming at the 11A service.
You can learn about any plans to cancel or delay services by:
  • Calling the church office (508-358-7717; a temporary message will be left on the church’s answering machine so that people may call in and find out the status of services)
  • Checking the front page of the TCC website
  • Checking CBSBoston.com
  • Watching WBZ-TV
As always, please use your own discretion before traveling in any questionable weather!
