Pastor's Note: The Advent of the Gospel: Perfectly Timed in Imperfect Circumstances
|
|
When God says, the Advent of Christ (the coming of the Gospel, Colossians 1:5-6) was perfectly timed (Galatians 4:4; Titus 1:1-3), do we believe His sense of timing is best also for our lives? Mary was greatly inconvenienced by the trip from the Galilee to Bethlehem during her third trimester (Luke 2:1-7), yet it all made sense in the end...

** Winter Weather and Possible Church Cancellations**
With winter on our doorstep, here is TCC’s inclement weather policy regarding church service delays or cancellation:
In the event of bad weather, a decision will be made
by 7P on Saturday night for Sunday morning services
. On Sunday mornings, we may potentially cancel the 9:30A service (along with all LTA and Youth Programming) and just have the 11A service. This would mean there would not be any Student Ministry or Children’s Programming at the 11A service.
You can learn about any plans to cancel or delay services by:
- Calling the church office (508-358-7717; a temporary message will be left on the church’s answering machine so that people may call in and find out the status of services)
- Checking the front page of the TCC website
- Checking CBSBoston.com
- Watching WBZ-TV
As always, please use your own discretion before traveling in any questionable weather!

Parking Reminder - Make Space for Visitors this Season!
|
As you know, parking at TCC on Sunday mornings is always a challenge! With winter here, we want to remind people that if they are physically able, please park in the Town Hall Building Lot. You may drop off people or paraphernalia before you proceed there. This will leave parking spots for visitors, the handicapped, our older population as well as those with young infants and toddlers. This is a practical way for us to show hospitality.
Besides designated handicapped parking spots, we have 4 spaces on the south side of the building for families with small children as well as 5 spaces on the north side of the building for visitors. Please respect these spots.
Do not park
along the sides of the driveway, as these areas are fire lanes and must be kept clear.
Not sure how to find the overflow lot? Here's a map!

Salvation Army Bell Ringers Needed
Paul Church is the local volunteer coordinator for the Salvation Army bell ringers’ annual fund raising campaign this year. The Salvation Army is one of the oldest Christian service organizations; it does its yearly fundraising
only
at Christmas time. Hourly time slots are available for adults and children at local markets in Cochituate and Wayland. This is a terrific introduction to Christian service for families during the Christmas season. Would you be willing to donate one hour, during daytime business hours, beginning December 2? If so, please contact Paul at 617-947-1903 or at
[email protected]

Artwork needed for Christmas Eve!
Help us tell the Christmas story with your child’s artwork! We use the
Jesus Storybook Bible
(JSB) during the Christmas drama and need the following scenes illustrated:
• Angel Visiting Mary (JSB p. 178)
• Joseph and Mary go to Bethlehem (JSB p 180)
• Jesus is Born (JSB p. 182)
• A Bright Star Appears in the Night Sky (JSB p. 184)
• Shepherds with their sheep (JSB p. 186)
• A bright angel appears (JSB p.188)
• Shepherds visit Jesus in the manger (JSB p. 190)
Matthew 2 – The Story of the Wise Men
• Picture of three wise men (JSB p. 192)
• Wise men going on a long journey (JSB p. 194)
• Wise men arriving in the town of Bethlehem (JSB p. 196)
• Wise men bowing before Jesus (JSB p. 198)
This can be a great project for your kids to have a hands-on experience of the Christmas Story. It is also a great opportunity to read the Bible together as your child thinks about how to illustrate it. We need LOTS of artwork of many different images, so pick one and make it your own!
Directions:
·
Submit full color drawings on letter sized paper.
·
Write your child’s name and grade NEATLY ON THE BACK.
·
Turn artwork into the CM desk by Sunday,December 15th, 2019.
Thanks so much!
