24/25 Academic Calendar

Dear TCCA Families,

On behalf of our faculty and staff, it is my great pleasure to welcome you back to school for the 24/25 school year! Our scholars are the animating force of our school and the reason we start each year with a renewed sense of dedication to the task of creating an environment where scholars can be inspired to become lifelong learners. It is my personal goal to continue to build an environment where we as faculty, staff, parents and scholars can come together as a community focusing on educating children in the liberal arts and sciences.

Since stepping into the role of Principal of TCCA two years ago, I have been so inspired by the successes and achievements of our scholars and the personal and professional growth of the TCCA staff. As a fairly new school, just five years old, It is truly remarkable that, last year, we received an “A” grade from the Florida Department of Education. Our administration and faculty have been preparing for an even better year this year. We have been looking at best practices of other classical charter schools in Florida and incorporating them here at TCCA. Our staff is receiving ongoing support and training from some of the best classical educators in our state. TCCA’s future is bright!

As you may have noticed, there have been some

staffing changes as we shift around and add to our administration team to best fit our current needs as a school. In the coming newsletters, we will be introducing or re-introducing each of our leadership team members. We are excited about how things are shaping up this year and if you have any questions about the changes please feel free to email me.

I love this quote by Henry Ford as it really captures what we have created here at TCCA over the past five years. “Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success.” We have done the first two as a school community, let’s continue to press on towards the third. It is going to be a great year at TCCA!

FOCUS

Please update your scholar's FOCUS Account. You can log in here. There will be a "Pending Form" for each of your scholars where you can update things like home address, phone numbers, emails, emergency contacts and approved people to pick up your scholar. Please make these updates before school starts on Monday.

School Supplies: Please use this link to pay the $75 fee per scholar no later than Wednesday, August 14. You may also send in a check made out to "TCCA." The school supplies program works best when every family participates. Mr. Greene and his team have ordered, separated, and delivered these supplies into your scholar’s classroom already. If you need financial assistance, please contact Mr. Greene .

Breakfast and Lunch are both available for purchase. Parents are not permitted to eat lunch with their children in the cafeteria but you may check your child out of school during their lunch period for an occasional lunch together. Picnic tables are provided to the South of the front office.

Please either pack your scholar's lunch or have them purchase it from the cafeteria. All food deliveries via (UberEats, DoorDash, etc.) will not be accepted. All lunches brought in to your scholar later in the day must be packed at home, not from local restaurants, unless repacked in a lunchbox.

We ask that ALL families complete the meal application at MySchoolApps.com. When the system prompts you to choose your district, select "Treasure Coast Classical Academy." If you are eligible to receive a free or reduced lunch you will be notified.

When all families complete the application the school receives benefits including:

School Funding - Increased funding to support students access to a top-notch education.
School Meals - Free or reduced-price for nutritious and balanced school meals.
College & Standardized Tests - Discounts for fees associated with college application processes and discount fees for SAT, ACT & AP.
Network - Additional funding for internet access and wireless access.
Gifted - Easier access and more opportunities to gifted programming
And more....possible P-EBT funding, helps fund schools

My School Bucks -MSB is the online portal we use to process all school payments for before and after care signups club signups, field trip payments, merchandise sales, and the school lunch program. MySchoolBucks can sometimes be a little tricky to navigate so we suggest setting up your account and familiarizing yourself with the system before the school year begins. These videos provide an excellent overview. Please note that when choosing the district, scroll down to Treasure Coast Classical Academy, not Martin County. Parents can contact MySchoolBucks directly with questions about getting signed up or using the service. They have a chat function on the website, a parent support number (855) 832-5226, or via email at parentsupport@myschoolbucks.com. MySchoolBucks staff is available Monday – Friday from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, and they have bilingual (Spanish) parent support representatives on their team.

Volleyball: Team roster will be sent out tonight.

Cross Country tryouts 8/15: Thursday, August 15th from 4:00-4:30pm at TCCA P.E Field. MUST REGISTER to attend. For more information email Coach Sinatra.

If your scholar is interested in participating in any sport, the following forms must be completed and brought with them to the tryout. If these forms are not completed and signed by a doctor and a parent they will not be able to tryout.

1. EL2 (2024 updated) FHSAA specific physical evaluation

2. EL3 consent and release form

Fall sports include the following:

1. Girls Volleyball (Grades 6-8)

2. Co-Ed Cross Country (Grades 6-11)

The PTC mission is to collaborate with families to create initiatives that celebrate and support our school and community. Please consider joining and attending PTC if you meet any of these criteria: you are a family member of a TCCA student, you are interested in being a part of our initiatives, you want to volunteer, you are a business able to donate, or you just want to be a more active part of the school!

Our first meeting is Thursday, August 22nd at 9am in the cafeteria. To assist with parking, you MUST leave campus and return closer to 9am. Parking is allowed in any open spot and along the right curb in a single line; carpooling with a friend would also help:) This will be a fun mix and mingle along with volunteer training- see you then!
