Message from the Executive Director | |
Liebe TCGIS Gemeinschaft / Dear TCGIS Community,
Today marks the start of our Spring Fundraising Campaign for the TCGIS Annual Fund and it is all about KINDNESS! Kindness is one of our five values at TCGIS. In one of our governing documents on our values, TCGIS Board and staff defined kindness as “something we learn and practice” and something “we publicly recognize in others who show kindness.” We are asking that TCGIS students practice kindness to their community in the name of support for our school.
Through our online partner Raise Craze, TCGIS families will have the opportunity to invite friends, relatives and neighbors to support our school with a donation. To pay their generosity forward, TCGIS students will pledge to complete age-appropriate acts of kindness (AOKs) for their community. Please consider participating, as funds raised support the unique needs of our immersion school and illuminate our school’s value of kindness.
KINDly,
Elizabeth Zehnpfennig, Executive Director

TCGIS is hosting a used book sale on April 17 from 3–5 P.M. in the school atrium. Open to the public, the sale features German and English books of all levels. All items are donation-based (cash or card accepted), with proceeds benefiting the TCGIS library.
Donations of gently used English or German books (published after 2010) are still welcome—please ensure they're free of damage.

We have four families that have offered to bring some German culture and welcoming an intern into their home and are in need of five more. Interns support all K-8 classrooms at TCGIS and we need your help to be able to continue offering this program in the future. If you are considering hosting an intern in the fall semester or in the future, please fill out the host family application form or reach out to Claudia Müller or Nina Maslofski if you have further questions.

We are exploring the opportunity to offer a dance team for the school year 2025-2026. For this to happen, we need your help! We need a coach who knows the dance competition scene and would be willing and able to set up the team. The season including practices and competitions would be organized along with Athletic Director Tabisz. Please read through the job description and Athletics Handbook, and email AD Tabisz with your interest and questions.
