| Our Students Go to Outdoor Recess: Please Send Winter Gear | | |
As long as temperatures including wind chill permit, we will have outdoor recess. Please send winter gear with your student every day to be able to participate. Students can bring clothes on a daily basis or keep a pair in their locker to make sure they are prepared for cold temperatures or snow. To go outside students need:
- Winter jacket
- Snow Pants in Elementary school.
- Hat
- Gloves
Please LABEL every item - sharpie, white pen, sticker work really well.
Consider sending a change of clothes since our younger students might get wet playing in the snow or not make it to the bathroom in time with all the extra gear to take off.

| Meet the new Spring Interns | I'm happy to be able to introduce you to our new group of interns starting in the second semester in February at TCGIS. They are in their last steps of getting their visa approved, booking their flights and shopping for Minnesota winters. They will find out about their mentors and host families before winter break to connect before they arrive here in late January. Lea, Zoe and Anne- Sophie will support in our Elementary School grades and Jenny is our only Middle School intern for the next semester. For spring all our host family needs are met, but we have around 9 interns looking forward to join us for next years fall semester or for a whole year. If you would like to welcome one of our interns in your home, check out our family resources on our website, where you can also find the host family application form. | Please take a moment to provide feedback in order to help inform calendar priorities for the 2026-27 TCGIS calendar. | Conference Format Feedback Form | We are hoping to understand the preferences and feedback of parents/guardians regarding virtual or in-person and daytime or evening conferences. Please take this quick survey to help us plan for future conferences. Thank you! | Parent Council Update - Neighborhood Busing | |
At this week's December meeting, representatives from the Warrendale neighborhood presented their understanding of the Metropolitan Council's proposed H Line Rapid Transit busline to the Parent Council. Currently planned to replace the 3A bus, they are asking the Metropolitan Council to consider adjusting the route to avoid the tight, and sometimes congested stretch of Chatsworth Street to Van Slyke Ave.
Their main goal is to let parents know about these proposed changes, as it affects the neighborhood around our school. There is a public district 10 meeting on December 17th if you are interested in attending to learn more and voice your opinions. See the neighborhood presentation here and letter to Metropolitan Council here.
