Director's Message

Liebe TCGIS Gemeinschaft! / Dear TCGIS community,

Did you know that TCGIS has a competitive Math Team? On Monday, January 9, the team hosted two other schools for the finals of the Minnesota State Junior High School Math League. The competition consisted of two 10-minute individual rounds and one 20-minute team round. Two TCGIS teams, the Schmos, consisting for Monday’s meet of Ashton Cook, Lexi Cook, Max Frasch, Theo Orsted, Bella Rieder, and Maya Tumerdem, and the Loonee Loons, consisting of Felicia Cook, Amali Fricke, Alex Holdreith, Gus Korte, Vivi Lauer, and Sunnatillo Mammatkulov took first and third place respectively. TCGIS also performed well in the individual all-around scores: Vivi Lauer took first, Sam Willoughby took second, Bella Rieder took fourth, Lexi Cook took sixth, and Natasha Kachinsky and Theo Orsted tied for seventh.

Congratulations to these TCGIS math wizzes and to their devoted advisors, Sam Graf and Roxanne Cornell.

Judges work in small teams and will be needed the entire school day on February 9. Read more about History Day here. If you are interested or have questions before committing, please email Frau Schlee. Volunteers will need to complete a background check.

Help TCGIS find prospective families!

TCGIS families are the #1 way prospective families find our great school. Vielen Dank for encouraging your friends and neighbors to consider TCGIS! Here are two great ways you can help TCGIS find prospective families:

  • There are just three more school tours before the application deadline on Feb. 15th. Please spread the word to friends and neighbors. They can learn more here: tcgis.org/school-tours.
  • Daycares are a great place for prospective families to hear about TCGIS! If you have a connection to a daycare, we have flyers that can be passed out or hung up. Please contact Mary Zimmerman if you would like to pick up flyers or have some sent home with your student. You can also print the flyer here.
