Message from the Executive Director

Liebe TCGIS Gemeinschaft / Dear TCGIS Community,

I am excited to announce that TCGIS is cooperating with a private therapist to provide easier access to therapy for students. We know the need for therapy is great and that getting kids to and from therapy requires them to miss school. School-based therapy takes out the commute while providing students with easier access to the important therapies that are essential for some kids. Our provider, Tara Marshall, has been a licensed therapist for many years and is excited to offer this service to our students. Please see this document from the provider we are working with to learn more.

Save the Date- TCGIS Family Ski Day

Save the Date for the annual TCGIS Family Ski Day at Trollhaugen on Sunday, February 2nd, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM! Whether you’re an experienced skier or want to learn, this is the perfect chance to hit the slopes with your kids and fellow TCGIS families.

Lift tickets are $26, and equipment rentals are available for $25. Plus, there’s a free "Learn to Ski" lesson. For those looking for a full day of skiing, full day lift tickets are also available: $47 for youth (18 & under) and $49 for adults. We look forward to seeing you there for an afternoon of skiing and fun! Stay tuned for more details.

Judges needed for History Day!

Frau Schlee and Herr Brentlinger are in need of judges for TCGIS History Day 2025! The school contest will be held during the school day on Wednesday, February 12. Judges will be needed the entire school day from 7:45am to around 3:00pm. Breaks and snacks will be provided, but judges will be responsible for providing their own lunch. You do not need to be a Middle School parent, or have experience with history or History Day to be a judge! Everyone is welcome. Training materials and one virtual training session will be provided ahead of the contest. A background check is also required.

For any 6th-8th grade families worried about a conflict of interest; it will be arranged so you are not judging your own child. If you would like to be a judge, please email Frau Schlee. We need at least 16 judges this year, so thank you for considering this awesome opportunity to support our students!

Lost Tonies

We are still looking for the Tonie figures that disappeared last month. They were a generous donation, and we hope they will be returned to the library soon. Email the library with any information!

A Message from the TCGIS Firearm Safety Group

As we head into 2025, the TCGIS Parents for Firearm Safety Group would like to reach out to you again to ask you to continue rigorous firearm safety practices in your home and in homes that your children visit (lock away firearms unloaded; lock away ammunition separately; do not share lock codes or keys with minors; ask about firearm storage practices in homes that your children visit). The full message can be seen here. Let’s continue to keep our school community safe.

Thank you and a safe New Year,

The TCGIS Parents for Firearm Safety Group
