Director's Message

Liebe TCGIS Gemeinschaft! / Dear TCGIS community,

Last week I was honored to join board chair Julie Alkatout, parent board member Laurie Hartman, teacher board member Emily Albers, and Parent Council member Emily Ruggles Johnson for Charter School Day at the Capitol. Along with charter school representatives from across the state we delivered messages and materials to our state representatives and senators to advocate for charter school funding to be equal to traditional public school state funding. This includes increasing the Basic Formula, Special Education formula, and Safe School Funding, from which charter schools are currently excluded.

Advocacy work is a critical component of the work we do for TCGIS. You can join us in this work by taking the simple step of calling your representatives and asking them to support safe school funding for all charter school students. See more detail here. You can find your representatives here.
