Message from the Executive Director | |
Liebe TCGIS Gemeinschaft / Dear TCGIS Community,
Our 8th graders are less than a week away from departing on their exchange. We have 63 students participating in this half of our exchange with three different German schools all near Münster in Nordrhein Westfalen, not far from the Dutch border. This trip is part of a larger program called the German American Partnership Program, GAPP. GAPP believes that this exchange is the largest they have ever had in their 50+ years of existence.
The students will experience daily life both at school and with a family in order to create a stronger understanding of culture and enhance their language abilities. We look forward to their growth in this life-changing adventure.
Huge thanks to my two partners in this planning, Claudia Müller and Esther Neu. They have worked tirelessly to get our students ready.
Elizabeth Zehnpfennig, Executive Director
| | Last Day of School will be Early Release | | We waited this year until we were out of the woods with weather to determine whether we would need the extra instructional hours on June 11th or not. We believe we are in the clear now. As a result the last day of school, June 11th will be an Early Release Day for all students. Kinderclub is ready to pivot for this change. | | We need YOU! TCGIS Seeking Two Additional Board Members | |
Our school is urgently seeking two more board members to fill board positions that begin July 1, 2025. Please consider supporting our school in this critical way. Learn more about board service by viewing our TCGIS Board FAQs document. If you or someone you know may be interested, please contact Emily Albers at ealbers@tcgis.org or any other current board member for more information. | Celebrating TCGIS Volunteers! |
Our school community is strengthened by the time and talents of our many volunteers. In 2024, the TCGIS Board established the Herzblut Preis – the Heart and Soul Award – as a way to publicly recognize the efforts of an outstanding volunteer in our community. If you know someone who should be considered for this year’s award, please nominate them here by May 30, 2025.

TCGIS is running very low on Kleenex and would greatly appreciate donations of a box or two if your family is able to help out. You can send boxes to school with your child, who can give them to their classroom teacher (middle schoolers can bring them to English class). Teachers can handle distribution from there. Vielen Dank for helping out!
| Lost and Found and Glasses Found! |
The lost and found is getting donated soon! Come check it out before its gone! Also, if you lost your glasses at school- we have them in the front office! Stop by to claim your glasses.
| Share Your Insights: Complete the TCGIS Strategic Planning Survey by May 18 | |
The TCGIS Board of Directors wants to include as many voices as possible in this spring’s strategic planning process. Please take a moment to complete this quick online survey. Hard copies are available in the front office.
| | The TCGIS band will perform on May 30, 2025 in the Sporthalle. All are invited! The current scheduled time is 5pm, but we may need to push it back; check next week's Rundbrief for updates! | 8th Grade Parents - Graduation is Around the Corner on June 8!! | |
It's hard to believe that graduation is just a few short weeks away on Jun 8th 1-3:30PM. We are planning a few projects to make the graduation amazing and need your help! Please click here to see what we need from you to make this day special.
