The Children's Room is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Yawkey Boys and Girls Club in Roxbury Massachusetts and the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute (LDBPI) that began in October of 2016. Made possible through a Be There grant from the New York Life Foundation, the partnership is part of a comprehensive approach to helping the
Club community
cope with loss, death, grief, and bereavement while also assisting Club members to build resiliency skills.
TCR has been working with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston since 2012. We began by providing trainings at 5 Boston area Boys and Girls Clubs, including the Yawkey Club, on supporting children and adolescents to help them understand and cope with death, dying, and loss. The Children's Room began offering grief support services in Boston area Boys and Girls Cubs in the fall of 2013.
This new partnership will span three years and will focus on four distinct areas: youth, staff, family, and community support.

Support TCR by Registering For the Cause + Event 5K
|
We're looking forward to the Cause + Event 5K in May! This is a great way to get involved in the community and help TCR.
The race will take place on Sunday, May 21, 2017, at 8 am, beginning at Arlington High School.
Cause + Event will donate a minimum of $15 to TCR for each runner who selects us as their organization of choice when they register. The team with the most participants on race day will receive an additional $250 donation to their cause! If you'd like, you can also start an individual fundraising page for the event. Last year, thanks to our participants, we raised $1,475!
Click below to visit the Cause + Event website for all of the details, and be sure to register early, if you plan to participate. The race has sold out very quickly the past two years!

Our Heartfelt Thanks
|
Warm thanks to Melissa Carboni, whose in-kind donation makes such an impact on the children, teens, and families we serve. Through Melissa's generosity, we are able to give a brand new stuffed animal to every child and teen who comes for an orientation to TCR. This gift is a reminder of support in the midst of profound change.
Over the years, Melissa has raised the spirits of over 10,720 children in hospitals, shelters, schools, and community locations such as TCR. In doing so, she honors the memory of her sister, Jill, and her dear friend, Andrew Marsh.
Thank you, Melissa!
