Honoring One of Our Founders:
Phyllis Silverman

We mourn the death of one of our founders, Dr. Phyllis Silverman.

As an author, teacher, and researcher, Phyllis was a pioneer in the field of bereavement whose career spanned over 40 years. Her passion helped conceptualize TCR; her tenacity helped make TCR a reality; her friendship helped TCR grow. As board member emeritus, she continued to provide steadfast support for the organization until earlier this year.

Through her work with TCR and well beyond, Phyllis devoted her career to ensuring support for grieving children, teens, and families, and to envisioning a world where death, dying, and grief are more fully integrated into our lives. Though we miss her deeply, we know Phyllis's spirit and her lasting contributions to the field of grief support will live on.

Please be sure to visit www.PhyllisRSilverman.com to learn more about her remarkable work.

A Special Panel on Resiliency
Just For Teens

"This afternoon was great, sharing felt good." ~ Teen

On June 11th, we hosted a unique Teen Program event: a panel discussion providing high-school-aged teens a safe space to ask a group of five college-aged TCR alumni questions about their experiences coping with grief in adolescence and about their transition into young adult life.

We have no doubt that both the teen participants and our alumni benefited from meeting each other and taking part in this generous dialogue about life and grief.

Teens talked openly with young adult TCR alumni about grief in college, grief on social media, and much more.

Warm thanks to Centerpoint Advisors and  Social Restaurant & Bar  for hosting such a fun Sports Trivia Night to benefit TCR!

Teams of four got to test their sports trivia knowledge against that of renowned author, ESPN guest, and Boston sports columnist Bob Ryan (pictured at left) . ESPN's  Mike Reiss  did a wonderful job emceeing the event, and we are deeply thankful to both Bob and Mike for making the night so memorable.

Thank you to everyone who made this night possible, and thank you to everyone who supported TCR by attending!

We send a special shout out to TCR Advisory Board Member Rich Greene, who was the brainchild behind this event.

A Special Thank You
to Andrew Lambert

Warm thanks to  Andrew Lambert! Andrew showed tremendous heart in running the  Cause + Event 5K in Arlington in order to fundraise on our behalf.

Andrew ran in memory of his dad, and he felt inspired to use the race in order to give back to TCR with thanks for the services his family has received in our peer support groups. Andrew, along with his mother, Lauren, his sister, Kaitlyn, and his brother, Evan, all stopped by so that Andrew could personally present the check for over $600 in donations he collected for TCR!

And as far as the race goes: did we mention that Andrew was one of the top three fastest runners in the Under 18 age group for males? How inspiring!
