Executive Director's Message
Looking back over the last month, I am overcome with gratitude by the Founded on Faith Awards Dinner on October 23. We hope you can attend our Community Impact Meeting next Thursday, November 8 at 8:30 am. We will talk about our programs, collaborations and future plans. Don't forget to sign up your group if they want to help out with Sack Lunch Chuck Wagon during the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo! This is a special service opportunity that we are proud to carry out every year. MLK Day of Service planning is in full force. Save the Date for January 21, 2019 to serve. More information on all the upcoming opportunities are included in this newsletter.
Lastly, please join us THIS EVENING (November 1) at 6:30 at Congregation Ahavath Shalom (4050 Hulen Street, Fort Worth) as the city gathers to pray for the lives lost and injured at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh last Saturday. Let us unite today, and everyday, as people loved by God.

Founded on Faith Awards Banquet
On October 23, 166 guests filled the Red Oak Ballroom at the Norris Conference Center in Sundance Square to celebrate and honor the award nominees. We welcomed special guests and TCT past and present supporters. We would like to extend out gratitude to our nominees and recipients who 'Connect for Good' in our community. Thank you to our Board of Directors, committee members and volunteers who made this event a success! Thank you to our event sponsors who were able to underwrite a special evening to remember. Literacy Connexus needs a new book bank in Tarrant County
The concept is simple, and similar to a food bank. Books come in, get sorted by volunteers, and are shared with those who lack books at home. Books are shared through family reading fairs and other events that draw families. The book banks primarily receive and issue gently used children’s books. So far, thousands of books have been shared in the local communities of the book banks as well as taken to border communities. See link to website for  Literacy Connexus book bank
