A Senate committee considered legislation that would make the TRS pension fund actuarially sound through increased contributions from active employees, the state, and school districts.

A bill filed by Senate newcomer Beverly Powell of Burleson would require an audit of STAAR testing.

Next week , committee action continues to rev up as the legislature enters its busiest weeks, and we may see major revisions to the House’s school finance/teacher pay proposal.
