Club Annual Meeting Thursday March 4, 2021
Presenter: Mark Martin!!!
TCWU is excited to host Hall of Fame angler Mark Martin as our headline speaker for our March annual club meeting.
 
Mark kicked off his professional fishing career by winning the first tournament he entered. He won the PWT Tournament of Champions held at International Falls, Minnesota and has over 47 top 10 tournament finishes in AIM, PWT, NWT and MWC.
 
Mark is passionate at sharing his fishing knowledge with fellow anglers and especially loves leading kids fishing clinics. We hope you are all excited to meet Mark in person, and learn from one of the great walleye anglers.
Fun facts and a little history about Mark

  • Mark is a guide, Captain and full time professional walleye fisherman and speaker
  • 1968: Caught his biggest walleye, a monster of 14 lbs., 1 ounce, at just 12 years old. 
  • He has qualified for 18 Professional Walleye Trail World Championship's.
  • Has 47 “top ten” finishes in his pro-walleye career.
  • Mark qualified for 18 Professional Walleye Trail World Championship's
  • He has over 40 years of professional fishing and has fished in over 200 Tournaments.
  • He placed 1st in his 1st tournament, the 1983 Muskegon Shoreline Spectacular!
  • Favorite Jig Types: Northland Fireball or Whistler Jig and Blue Fox Standup and Slider Jigs.
  • Favorite Crank Bait: Rapala Original Floating Rapala or Shad-rap
  • Favorite Lake: "There are so many across the United States and Canada... I can't decide, because each one has its own special traits."
  • Favorite method for tournament fishing: " Any method that catches walleye. I really don't have any hang-ups with any one type of method... I like them all. Whatever it takes to catch fish that day, and I am partial to long line trolling Rapala's at night along rip-rap drop-offs or break lines.
  • His knowledge frequently appears in: In-Fisherman's Walleye Insider, Outdoor Life, Midwest Outdoors, Michigan Woods and Waters, Fishing Facts, and many other periodicals.

Attn everyone a couple of updates for our March meeting
  • This months meeting will be held in the main auditorium on the first floor. The extra space will help us all keep a safe distance
  • The Knights of Columbus Restaurant is now open and they can serve beverages, woo hoo!
  • Masks most likely will be required, and we will have some spares for those who need one
