Wow! October was a month to remember! It all started with Carrie Dixon's remarkable presentation at the Allamanda October lecture series, then a fundraiser at Havana Country Club, followed by the Italian German Parade and ending with a bowling extravaganza at the Spanish Springs Lanes. If you think that was all there was, you would be mistaken. In between these big events, TCWV (wo)maned vendor booths, cash raffle sales and participated in Wednesday golf outings.
November is busier than ever. Right out of the gate, we have night golf, a trip to the World Equestrian Center an educational lecture on Rugged Warriors by Gina Alderman, a fundraiser at Lopez Legacy and a market night event all within 7 days of each other. We get a slight pause then finish with a bang with a Guest Author and book signing.
In between, we will manage to find time to have fun on the golf course and make friends and money at Wednesday cash raffle sales at Belle Glade CC.
Thank you Flo Hurlburt, Carol Kalinowski, Joan Wentz, Anne Lombardi, Angie Flynn and the golf captains, Sandie Hayes, Joan Wentz and Kathy Starnes for your leadership.
Event specifics can be found within the body of this newsletter and/on our website tricountywomenveterans.org
Code HORSE started back up on October 23rd. Three of our members are attending: Gail Tyree, Kelly Morgan and Lisa Johnson. Two more sessions are scheduled for early next year. If you are interested in attending and have not yet signed up, please contact Angie Flynn or me.
Veterans Day is a busy day for TCWV. We are going to be showcased at the Veterans Memorial Park (VMP) Veterans' Day Ceremony. The guest speaker is Karen Knight, our TCWV Color Guard will be bringing in the colors and TCWV members will be bringing in the service flags. In addition, our organization will be passing out water to those in need. Please come out and support your sisters.
On a sad note, two of our members passed away in October. Barbara Gibson and Doris Vail. Doris' memorial will be at Florida National Cemetery at Bushnell on Nov 7th at 11am and Barbara's will be at Dignity Memorial Life Celebration Center on Nov 11 from 11am-3pm. Please keep their loved ones in your thoughts and prayers.
