TDI-Brooks Q1-2025 Vessel Report

TDI-BROOKS SHIFTS FOCUS TO OIL & GAS

The Offshore Wind Industry is in the midst of change. President Trump announced a National Energy Emergency aimed at facilitating new energy production and infrastructure. He subsequently signed an Executive Order that imposes limitations on offshore wind development. This order suspends new lease sales for offshore wind on the Outer Continental Shelf and pauses the granting of new approvals while the administration conducts a thorough review of federal leasing and permitting practices.

Like many others, during this "pause", we've shifted our focus from US Offshore Wind back to our roots in Oil & Gas. The start of 2025 has provided a major focus on AFRICA, specifically offshore Morocco, Namibia, Nigeria, Angola and Congo. TDI-Brooks is presently operating three vessels in West and Southwest Africa, engaged in various projects for leading International Oil Companies (IOCs).

Our 75-m, DP-II vessel R/V NAUTILUS just finished with a deep water 'heavy' geotechnical project (20-m JPC, 40-m CPT-Stinger, 40-m CPT-Stinger) off Namibia. Following this, the next project in line is a second shallow water deep push CPT (Manta-200) initiative. These projects should be complete by early April when the NAUTILUS will be available for other projects in West Africa.

We expect our R/V PROTEUS to continue working in Nigeria through most of the 1Q on various analogue and 2D HR survey projects.

The R/V GYRE will be working various environmental and geotechnical projects in NW Africa through May and available thereafter.

LOCATE US

TDI-Brooks are headquartered in College Station, TX, just 90-minutes North of Houston, with remote domestic offices located in Houston, Louisiana and Colorado. We also have strategically placed offices around the globe in Africa, Colombia, and Mexico and work with various agents in other regions.

INTERNATIONAL VESSELS

NAUTILUS

TDI-Brooks' 75-m, DP-II vessel, the R/V NAUTILUS, is headed to Nigeria for a project involving 50-m deep push CPTs and JPCs at some of their continental shelf drill sites.

The vessel also has TDI-Brooks' deep water geotechnical took kit onboard.  Below is a YouTube video of the vessel and Manta-200.

The NAUTILUS could be available for additional geotechnical work in Nigeria by mid-April.

PROTEUS

R/V PROTEUS, has been conducting analogue and 2D HR survey projects for a major IOC in Nigeria for the last 2+ months. It is in Nigeria for the next month before heading down to Congo and northern Angola for 2-3 months of geophysical survey and EBS projects there.

GYRE

The R/V GYRE is presently engaged in a range of environmental and geotechnical projects in Northwest Africa during the first and second quarters.

R/V GYRE is outfitted with a full seep hunting kit including a newly installed Kongsberg EM-304 (1×1) hull-mounted 30-kHz multibeam (MBES) kit and Edgetech HM3300 Chirp subbottom profiler with a 4×4 Masa TR-1075 transducer array. The vessel has geotechnical and geochemical coring, heat flow, CPT and other sampling capabilities.

USA-BASED VESSELS

Our two (2) GoM based vessels are the R/V BROOKS McCALL (BMCC) and R/V MISS EMMA McCALL (EMMA). Both of these vessels are currently based in Texas. However, with the demise of the offshore wind market on both the US East and West Coasts, we only have enough US GoM business to currently keep the BMCC busy. Both of these vessels are US-flagged but only the EMMA is fully-SOLAS such that it can work internationally.

BROOKS MCCALL

The R/V BROOKS McCALL is currently conducting geotechnical and 2DHR programs in the GoM for several IOCs and is periodically available for other G&G projects over the next few quarters.

EMMA MCCALL

Currently in Freeport, TX awaiting projects in GoM, East Coast, Caribbean or Northern South America.
