CeraLink™ In Modular Flex-Assembly Technology
|
|
TDK Corporation (TSE:6762) has extended the lineup of proven CeraLink™ capacitors with CeraLink FA types in modular flex-assemblytechnology. This space-saving design connects two, three or ten identical capacitors in parallel over the same terminals in order to increase the capacitance. The new CeraLink FA types are available for rated voltages of 500 V DC, 700 V DC and 900 V DC. Depending on the voltage and number of capacitors, this results in rated capacitance values of between 0.5 µF and 10 µF. A feature of these capacitors is their high operating temperature of 150 °C. The FA types have a width of 7.4 mm and a height of 9.1 mm; while the lengths are 6.3 mm, 9.3 mm or 30.3 mm. They feature a ripple current capability of up to 47 ARMS.
The parallel switching allows extremely low ESR (equivalent series resistance) values that are significantly below 10 mΩ at high frequencies. CeraLink capacitors are suited for converter topologies based on fast-switching semiconductors such as GaN or SiC. Voltage overshoots when switching are significantly lower than conventional capacitor technologies.

Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors
Compact single-ended series with high current capability

TDK Corporation (TSE:6762) has developed a new series of EPCOS single-ended aluminum electrolytic capacitors that feature a particularly compact design, a high CV product and high ripple current capability. The capacitors of the B41897* series are available for rated voltages of between 25 V DC and 75 V DC and cover a capacitance range from 270 µF to 12,000 µF. The dimensions of the new components range from 12.5 mm x 20 mm to 18 mm x 40 mm (d x l) depending on the voltage and capacitance.
These new capacitors are designed for continuous operation at up to 135 °C and for a peak temperature of 150 °C. The ripple current capability has increased while raising the capacitance by as much as 60 percent. Typical applications include automotive ECUs and power supplies.

Film Capacitors
Rugged AC filter capacitors with UL 810 approval

TDK Corporation (TSE:6762) presents a new series of AC filter capacitors that are UL 810 approved at the component level and carry the CE mark. The capacitors of the B32354S3* series are designed for a rated voltage of 350 V AC and are available with capacitance values of 10 µF to 40 µF. The lead spacing is 52.5 mm. Thanks to their improved protection against moisture, they pass a temperature, humidity, bias (THB) test at 85 °C, 85 percent relative humidity and applied rated voltage for 1000.

EMC Filters
LeaXield minimizes earth leakage currents
|
|
TDK Corporation (TSE:6762) announces that it has reengineered and improved the EPCOS LeaXield™ active leakage current filter, a unique solution that is able to minimize earth leakage currents in converter-based drive systems. LeaXield is designed for applications in variable-speed drives such as those in machine tools, pumps, compressors, conveyance systems, and other pluggable devices. In these systems aggregate earth leakage currents can cause RCDs (residual current devices) to trip at their threshold. As a result, RCDs are either not usable or only with substantial additional outlay.
LeaXield is available for load currents of up to 50 A at a rated frequency of 50/60 Hz and phase-to-phase voltages of up to 520 V AC. The active leakage current filter is connected between the RCD and the EMC input filter of the converter in industry-standard three-phase TN power grids and does not require an additional power supply. LeaXield can be utilized for earth leakage currents of up to 1 A and can effectively compensate leakage currents over a wide spectral range from 150 Hz to approximately 30 kHz.
LeaXield couples a 180° phase-shifted current with identical amplitude to the leakage current to the respective phases and feeds it back to the source. This prevents the leakage currents from flowing through the RCD and tripping it unintentionally, thus increasing factory availability.
Thanks to its compact design, the LeaXield is well-suited for retrofitting existing installations. As no external power supply is required and installation outlay is minimal.
