TDS Recital Update
Awesome parents,
Thank you for completing the surveys for the winter show and Nutcracker performances, and providing us with your valuable feedback. We listened! The two most frequent comments we received were the need to be in a space where we could house everyone, but successfully socially distance, and the need for an elevated stage or seating so that all rows could clearly see the performers. As you may or may not know, the surrounding area school districts are not currently offering rentals for their PACs and there is a huge shortage of performance venues in Round Rock and anywhere nearby. During this time of the pandemic, there are virtually no performance venues available, and the few that do have a long line of groups waiting to rent on almost all Spring weekends.
Given all that I have mentioned, we are incredibly fortunate to have found a space that had one weekend in May available (and it happens to be the weekend that we had already slotted for recital on our studio master calendar last Summer). The only potential downside is that it is a bit of a drive from the studio. We are hoping that you will understand the limited options available to us right now and try to be flexible, so that we can still provide your dancer with a wonderful recital experience. The venue is amazing and all that we could ask for, with tons of audience seating, huge backstage areas/dressing rooms, a great stage, lighting, etc., and our Company kids are very familiar with the space, having performed there almost every year for competitions. We will hold the dress rehearsal, Friday evening, May 28th, at the studio, to limit the driving to one trip on Saturday for the show.

Where: Hays Performing Arts Center in Kyle, 979 Kohlers Crossing, Kyle (approx 40-45 minute drive from the studio - should be able to avoid traffic since on a Saturday afternoon)
When: Saturday, May 29th, at 5pm (dancer call time 4:15pm)
Recital performance fee
You have already paid for your costume fee(s), but the performance fee of $ 75 was set to be charged on February 15th. Because we want to allow you to choose your seats, so you can socially distance but keep your family/friend group seated together, we have decided to use an online ticketing system. Therefore, we are lowering the performance fee to $50 and allowing you to choose and purchase your seats through online purchasing. The $50 fee includes renting the venue, staff time for rehearsal and show, professional photos of the performance, and a (professionally captured) video link of the entire show.
We will be providing you with more updates monthly as we get closer to this special day, but wanted to update you on some of the modifications we have made to make this a better experience for your dancer and your family!
